Toad

The gentleman with the green spotted waistcoat lives by the creek behind our house. He was quite content to sit and have his picture taken before wandering off to pursue other endeavors.

Raccoon

This little lady has been a guest in our house for the last few weeks, but recently took up new lodgings elsewhere. Hopefully in the very near future she will be reunited with her children who she unintentionally left behind.

Ladder

One thing I love about living here is that, even within the city limits, we have this tiny patch of unspoiled woods right in our backyard, and we can almost pretend that we're not a quarter mile from the highway.

No Parking

Not nearly as bad as "GET OFF THE GRASS" at Jardin du Luxembourg, above is the reservoir and surrounding green on Asbury College's property. No parking whatsover, whensover. Violators towed at owners expense, yada yada. I've never been towed. I park there ALL THE TIME. Of course, I park in the spaces and not on the road, but the spaces are for Asbury tagged cars only, violators towed at owner's expense. So I still feel like I'm getting away with something.

Everyone Would Have a Dozen Blue Birds...

I guess Asbury College will settle for one. This one.

Dandelion

I thought this was appropriate, as we just started reading Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine again.

Lace

In "Dandelion Wine", Bradbury talks about the fine lace composed of the sky and the interleaved branches of the trees. Here's some of that lace.

Used to be a farm ...

This is the view out of the window of my new office. This used to be a farm, not so many years ago. It's a bit of a running joke that when friends visit, I point at *everything* and say, that used to be a farm. I used to come out here, to this very spot where my office sits, and fly kites, not more than 10 years ago. Now it's houses and offices, and more office buildings planned.

Main Street, Nicholasville

If you can manage to get a picture without wires all over the place, there's some very interesting buildings downtown Nicholasville.
